Privacy Policy

Playrito is a local audiobook player. It lets you import audio files on your device, continue playback from where you left off, save bookmarks, adjust listening settings, and optionally generate subtitles using Apple speech recognition features.

1. Information We Process

  • Audio files you import into Playrito.
  • Local playback data such as listening progress, last position, chapter state, and bookmarks.
  • App settings such as playback preferences, subtitle settings, and similar on-device configuration.
  • Locally cached transcript or subtitle data generated for your use inside the app.

2. Where Your Data Is Stored

Playrito stores your imported books, playback progress, bookmarks, settings, and transcript cache locally on your device. We do not upload this data to developer-operated servers for storage or syncing.

3. Subtitles and Speech Recognition

Playrito may offer optional subtitles or transcription using Apple's speech recognition technologies. Depending on your iOS version, device, and language availability, speech recognition may run on-device or via Apple services. When this feature is used, any speech recognition processing is handled by Apple, not by developer-operated Playrito servers.

The current release build does not include a separate automatic note-generation feature. If that changes in a future release, this policy will be updated before the feature is broadly offered.

Playrito stores user books, progress, bookmarks, settings, and transcript cache locally. We do not sell this data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use it for cross-app tracking.

4. Data Sharing

We do not send your imported audio files, playback progress, bookmarks, settings, or transcript cache to developer-operated servers. We also do not sell personal data, use your library for ads, or share your app activity for cross-app or cross-website tracking. If you use optional Apple speech recognition for subtitles, the related processing may be handled on-device or by Apple services as described above.

5. Data Retention

Your imported books, playback progress, bookmarks, settings, and transcript cache remain on your device until you delete the content in the app, remove the app, or clear the app's local data from your device. Because we do not store this information on our own servers, deleting it from your device is generally the way to remove it.

6. Deletion Choices

You can delete imported files, bookmarks, subtitle or transcript cache, and other local app data from your device at any time. Removing the app also removes Playrito data stored locally with it, subject to how iOS manages app deletion and any device backups you control.

7. Children's Privacy

Playrito is not specifically directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
